IPL 2021 is just two weeks away, and it is certainly the next most expected thing of 2021, next to the much-awaited COVID vaccine.
This season of IPL 2021 will be the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League Cricket Tournament. With all eight teams actively gearing up for the tournament, the captain of the team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) MS Dhoni lent colour by unveiling the team’s new jersey for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
The Big Deal about CSK's latest Jersey!
There are a few fresh new-feel things about CSK’s Jersey. First, the jersey features a camouflage print on the shoulders as a tribute to India’s Armed Forces.
An additional important feature of CSK’s new jersey is the logo of CSK’s new sponsor, Myntra. Another visible element on the jersey is the 3 stars located just above the logo, depicting the 3 IPL titles they have won this far.
When asked about the Camouflage pattern, the CEO of CSK, KS Viswanathan said “It has been on our mind for some time now to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces.
The camouflage is an appreciation of their service; they are the true heroes.”
Apart from the new attractive feel, the manufacturing of the jersey has managed to leave a positive impact on the environment. The new CSK’s jersey is a product of absolute recycled plastic. You heard it right! Every CSK’s jersey is made from recycled plastic bottles, with 15 plastic bottles being used to make a single jersey.
The environmental benefits of making the jersey were it consumed 90% less water and had a significant cut-off in the carbon emission that takes place during the manufacturing process.
